Greetings to All,

I do trust you all are looking forward to the upcoming holidays and enjoying time with friends and family on the Knolls.

With the turning of the leaves, I am reminded how River Heights offers such an idyllic setting for us to live. I also am reminded how River Heights offers among the lowest fees and taxes of any property association in Johnson County. The River Heights Property Owners Association (RHPOA) has been able to maintain such wonderful conditions because the RHPOA Board is run by volunteers, many of whom have been living here for more than 30 years.

Alas, these individuals cannot serve us forever and many are looking to vacate their positions in the coming year.

As such, we are looking for other RHPOA members to assume roles as Board Officers and Knoll Representatives. We are particularly looking for individuals who possess experience and skills in accounting, construction, law and other occupations pertinent to property management. Of course, we also are looking for persons to join our Board who are motivated to maintain our idyllic and affordable setting regardless.

As President, I promise your time and effort will be kept to a minimum of four quarterly Board meetings lasting no more than two hours each, and no more than two hours attending to RHPOA operations (e.g., helping to clean the trails) in between these board meetings.

I recognize we all have many other priorities in our lives and volunteering to serve on the RHPOA Board is not likely to be at the top of any one’s list of priorities (or even in the Top Ten),
Still, my priority as President is to enlist the next generation of RHPOA members who are willing to maintain the RHPOA.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming an RHPOA Board member, please send an email to brian-kaskie@uiowa.edu and we can discuss this further.

Enjoy the rest of your day,
Brian Kaskie
RHPOA Board President
